Looking Glass Theatre
San Diego, CA
Looking Glass
Theatre celebrated its twentieth anniversary in 2006. Its first
production, the West Coast premiere of “Alice
in Blunderland”, an anti-nuclear – big business musical allegory ran for two
years traveling throughout Southern California. Since that time, they have presented the Southern California premieres of
an adaptation of Studs Terkel’s “The Good War” and Rose & Conlon’s
“Yanomamo”, a rain forest musical.
During the
past two decades LGT has evolved into a full fledged production
company, creating its own musical variety shows. It has produced concert venues
for local performers such as Chris Hassett, Peggy Watson, Debra Liv Johnson,
Sam Hinton and Kay Etheridge.
In recent years, some
of their most popular offerings were "Honk!," “Fiddler on the Roof,” “Wizard
of Oz,” ”Oklahoma!”,.
“Music Man,” and “Oliver!” Looking Glass
Theatre has also presented “The Man who Came to Dinner,”
“Androcles and the Lion,” “The Night
of January 16th,” and “The Shape of
Things."
Two of our shows, "The Most Fabulous Story Ever Told" and "Jeffrey," have been produced in association as an Arts & Cultural Partner of San Diego LGBT Pride.
